- Protein arginine N-methyltransferase 7 (PRMT7) belongs to the family of protein arginine methyltransferases, which catalyze the transfer of methyl groups from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to arginine residues. It can generate both omega-N monomethylarginine (MMA) and symmetrical dimethylarginine (sDMA), with a preference for MMA formation.
