Biological Background: PP2A-Aα/PR65α/PPP2R1A Function and Localization
- PR65/PPP2R1A is the alpha isoform of the 65 kDa regulatory subunit A of serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), encoded by the gene PPP2R1A (alternative names: PP2AA, PR65A). - The protein is essential for proper chromosome segregation and centromeric localization of SGO1 during mitosis, ensuring genetic stability. Related references: PMID:16580887
