DNA-directed RNA polymerase III subunit RPC3 (also known as RPC62 or POLR3C) is a specific peripheric component of the RNA polymerase III (Pol III) complex, which is responsible for synthesizing small non-coding RNAs, including 5S rRNA, tRNAs, snRNAs, and miRNAs from at least 500 distinct genomic loci. - The immunogen covers the N-terminal region (amino acids 1-270) of human POLR3C, a domain likely conserved across species, which supports the observed cross-reactivity with mouse and rat. For applications in these species, validation in the relevant sample system is recommended.
- In Western blotting, the expected band appears at approximately 61 kDa. Due to potential post-translational modifications or isoform variations, slight shifts in molecular weight may occur; therefore, proper loading controls and molecular weight markers should be included.
- For ELISA, the antibody can be used as a detection reagent; however, optimal dilutions and conditions should be determined empirically using appropriate positive and negative controls.
