Biological Background: PMCH Function and Localization
- PMCH encodes the precursor protein pro-MCH, which is proteolytically processed to produce active neuropeptides including melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH), neuropeptide EI (NEI), and neuropeptide GE (NGE).
