Biological Background: PI3 Kinase p110 delta Function and Localization

• PI3K p110 delta is the catalytic subunit of class IA PI3K, encoded by the PIK3CD gene. It phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) to generate phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3), a critical second messenger in signal transduction. Related references: PMID:15135396
• It plays essential roles in immune cell signaling, including B-cell receptor (BCR) and T-cell receptor (TCR) pathways, regulating lymphocyte proliferation, differentiation, and migration.
