Biological Background: STAT1 Function and Localization

- Following type I IFN receptor binding, STAT1 is tyrosine-phosphorylated, dimerizes with STAT2, and associates with IRF9 to form the ISGF3 complex, which binds ISRE to activate antiviral genes. Related references: PMID:28753426 PMID:35568036
