SHP-1 (PTPN6) is a non-receptor tyrosine phosphatase, also known as hematopoietic cell protein-tyrosine phosphatase (HCP), PTP-1C, and SH-PTP1. Isoform 1 is expressed in hematopoietic cells, while isoform 2 is found in non-hematopoietic tissues.

SHP-1 negatively regulates signaling by dephosphorylating receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) including EGFR, PDGFR and FGFR, and by acting on immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM)-containing receptors such as PDCD1 and LILRB1 to inhibit immune cell activation.
