- GRIA1 (Glutamate receptor 1), also known as GluR1, GluA1, or AMPA-selective glutamate receptor 1, is a ligand-gated ion channel belonging to the AMPA receptor subfamily of ionotropic glutamate receptors.
- It functions as a cation channel gated by L-glutamate and AMPA receptor agonists, mediating fast excitatory synaptic transmission; upon activation, it allows influx of Na+ and Ca2+, leading to membrane depolarization.
