Biological Background: PHF1 Function and Localization

• Also known as hPCl1, PHF1 is a Polycomb group (PcG) chromatin regulator that specifically binds histone H3 trimethylated at Lys-36 (H3K36me3) and recruits the PRC2 complex, with reports indicating it can both promote and inhibit H3K27me3 methylation.
