- Prostaglandin G/H synthase 2 (PGHS-2), also known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), is a dual-function enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) via sequential cyclooxygenation and peroxidation reactions.
