Biological Background: p70 S6 Kinase 1 Function and Localization
- Ribosomal protein S6 kinase beta-1 (RPS6KB1), also known as p70 S6 kinase 1 (p70S6K1), S6K, and STK14A, is a serine/threonine-protein kinase encoded by the RPS6KB1 gene in human (GeneID: 6198).

- For Western blot (WB), a band at approximately 59 kDa is expected in human, mouse, and rat samples; cell lines or tissues with active mTOR signaling (e.g., stimulated HeLa, HEK293, or liver tissue) may serve as positive controls.
- In immunofluorescence (IF/ICC), punctate cytoplasmic and nuclear staining may be observed, with possible mitochondrial or synaptic localization under specific conditions; fixation and permeabilization should be optimized.
- For ELISA, the antibody can be considered as a capture or detection reagent in sandwich assays, but pairing validation and titer determination are recommended in the relevant sample matrix.
