Biological Background: Nuclear RNA Export Factor 1 (NXF1) Function and Localization
- NXF1, also known as TAP (Tip-associated protein) or MEX67, is a nuclear RNA export factor that mediates the nuclear export of mRNA.
- Forms a heterodimer with NXT1 and participates in the export of mRNA, including HSP70 mRNA, through interactions with ALYREF/THOC4 and THOC5 of the TREX complex. Also facilitates nuclear export of m6A-containing mRNAs by bridging SRSF3 and YTHDC1.
