Biological Background: NPC1-like intracellular cholesterol transporter 1 Function and Localization
- Plays a major role in cholesterol homeostasis and is critical for the uptake of cholesterol across the plasma membrane of intestinal enterocytes. Related references: PMID:22095670

- For ELISA, coat the recombinant protein or a peptide spanning the immunogen region and perform checkerboard titrations to optimize antibody and antigen concentrations.
- Given the cross-reactivity with rat, the antibody can be tested in rat intestinal or hepatic tissue lysates; however, titration and validation in the relevant model system are recommended.
