Biological Background: NOXO1 Function and Localization

• NOXO1 (NADPH oxidase organizer 1), also known as SH3 and PX domain-containing protein 5, SNX28, and P41NOX, exists as multiple isoforms (e.g., isoform 1 and isoform 3) arising from alternative splicing.
• Constitutively potentiates the superoxide-generating activity of NOX1 and NOX3; isoform 3 exhibits greater potency than isoform 1 in activating NOX3.
