Biological Background: NOSIP Function and Localization

• NOSIP (Nitric oxide synthase-interacting protein), also known as eNOS-interacting protein, CGI-25, or RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase NOSIP, is a 33 kDa E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that belongs to the Ubl conjugation pathway.
• It is essential for proper development of the forebrain, eye, and face, as well as other developmental processes (By similarity).
• NOSIP catalyzes monoubiquitination of serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) catalytic subunit PPP2CA/PPP2CB (By similarity).
