Biological Background: NFKBIZ Function and Localization

• NFKBIZ, also known as I-kappa-B-zeta (IkB-zeta), INAP, or MAIL, is a nuclear protein that regulates NF-kappa-B transcription factor complexes. Related references: PMID:16513645, PMID:16622025
• It inhibits NF-kappa-B activity by blocking DNA-binding of p65-p50 heterodimers and p50-p50 homodimers without affecting nuclear translocation. Related references: PMID:16513645
