• Methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MUT), also known as methylmalonyl-CoA isomerase, is encoded by the MMUT gene in humans.
• Catalyzes the reversible isomerization of methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA, a key step in the breakdown of branched-chain amino acids, odd-chain fatty acids, and cholesterol.
