Biological Background: MRP3 Function and Localization
- MRP3, encoded by ABCC3, is an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter that uses ATP hydrolysis to actively transport diverse substrates including glucuronide conjugates, glutathione conjugates, and bile salts across cell membranes. Related references: PMID:10359813, PMID:11581266, PMID:15083066
