- MRP1/ABCC1 (also designated ABCC1, MRP, GS-X) is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily, encoded by the ABCC1 gene. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
- Core efflux function: Mediates ATP-dependent export of a broad spectrum of organic anions, including glutathione conjugates, leukotriene C4, and anticancer drugs, thereby conferring multidrug resistance. Hydrolyzes ATP with low efficiency.
