- Full name: MAPK/MAK/MRK overlapping kinase, also known as MOK protein kinase and Renal tumor antigen 1 (RAGE-1).
- Encoded by the MOK gene (RAGE, RAGE1), it functions as a serine/threonine-protein kinase.
- Phosphorylates several exogenous substrates and undergoes autophosphorylation; negatively regulates cilium length in a cAMP and mTORC1 signaling-dependent manner.
- Localizes to the cytoplasm, cell projections including cilia, and nucleus.
- Expressed in heart, brain, lung, kidney, and pancreas; low in placenta, liver, skeletal muscle; detected in retina.
