Biological Background: Moesin Function and Localization
- Moesin (MSN) is an ERM family protein that tethers the actin cytoskeleton to the plasma membrane.
- Its activity is regulated by phosphorylation of a C-terminal threonine, which induces an open conformation for F-actin binding and cytoskeletal rearrangement. Related references: PMID:10212266
