  • MAP4K2 (also known as GCK, RAB8IP, BL44) is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that acts as a key MAP4K in the JNK and p38 MAPK signaling cascades.
  • It is essential for innate immunity, being required for efficient JNK activation by TRAF6-dependent stimuli such as LPS, peptidoglycan, poly(I:C), and bacterial flagellin, and to a lesser extent by IL-1 and CD40 engagement.
