Biological Background: macroH2A.1 Function and Localization
- macroH2A.1 is a core histone variant encoded by the MACROH2A1 gene, which produces multiple isoforms through alternative splicing, including isoform 1 (which binds poly-ADP-ribose) and isoform 2 (which does not).
