- KRT80 is a type II keratin that forms coiled-coil dimers essential for the assembly of intermediate filaments, providing structural support to cells.
- Subcellularly, KRT80 localizes to the intermediate filament network, contributing to cytoskeletal integrity and cellular mechanics.
- Phosphorylation of KRT80 (as indicated by proteomics data) may regulate filament dynamics and interactions with other cellular components.
