Biological Background: KNTC1 Function and Localization
- KNTC1 (Kinetochore-associated protein 1), also known as Rough deal homolog (ROD), is encoded by the KNTC1 gene and is conserved across eukaryotes.

- Subcellular localization: Predominantly cytoplasmic but also nuclear, concentrates at centromeres/kinetochores and spindle microtubules during mitosis.
