- KLF9, also known as basic transcription element-binding protein 1 (BTEB1) or GC-box-binding protein 1, is a Krueppel-like factor transcription factor encoded by the KLF9 gene.
- KLF9 binds to GC box promoter elements, selectively activating mRNA synthesis from genes with tandem GC box repeats while repressing genes with a single GC box.

- Predominantly localizes to the nucleus where it exerts its transcriptional regulatory functions.
