Biological Background: KDM4A Function and Localization

• KDM4A (lysine-specific demethylase 4A), also known as JMJD2A, JHDM3A, and TDRD14A, is a JmjC domain-containing histone demethylase that specifically targets trimethylated histone H3 at lysine 9 (H3K9me3) and lysine 36 (H3K36me3).
