  • Demethylates mono- and di-methylated lysine 4 of histone H3 (H3K4me1/me2), generally associated with transcriptional activation, and dimethylated lysine 9 (H3K9me2), a repressive mark, acting as both a co-repressor and co-activator depending on the context.
