- Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily E member 1 (KCNE1), also known as MinK, ISK, JLNS, or LQT5, is a single-pass transmembrane protein that functions as a regulatory beta subunit of voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels.
- It associates with KCNQ1/KVLQT1 alpha subunit to form the slowly activating delayed rectifier cardiac potassium (IKs) channel, which is critical for ventricular muscle action potential repolarization.
