Biological Background: JAM-A Function and Localization
- JAM-A (F11R) is a single-pass type I membrane protein containing an immunoglobulin domain, essential for tight junction assembly and cell adhesion. It recruits PARD3 to primordial cell junctions, and its association with the PARD6-PARD3 complex may regulate tight junction formation (PubMed:11489913).
