- Integrin alpha-9 (ITGA9), also known as integrin alpha-RLC, is a member of the integrin alpha chain family and pairs with beta-1 integrin to form a functional receptor.
- ITGA9:ITGB1 serves as a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin, and osteopontin, recognizing the amino acid sequence A-E-I-D-G-I-E-L in cytotactin.
- Through interaction with SVEP1, ITGA9:ITGB1 inhibits vasocontraction by repressing PRKCA-mediated L-type voltage-gated channel Ca²⁺ influx and ROCK-mediated calcium sensitivity in vascular smooth muscle cells. Related references: PMID:35802072
