Biological Background: ISG20 Function and Localization
- ISG20 (Interferon-stimulated gene 20 kDa protein), also known as HEM45 or CD25, is an interferon-induced antiviral exoribonuclease that primarily acts on single-stranded RNA. Related references: PMID:11401564 PMID:12594219 PMID:16033969
- It exhibits antiviral activity against RNA viruses including hepatitis C virus (HCV), hepatitis A virus (HAV), and yellow fever virus (YFV).
