Biological Background: Integrin beta-3 (ITGB3/CD61) Function and Localization

• Integrin beta-3 (ITGB3), also known as CD61 or GPIIIa, is a transmembrane receptor encoded by the ITGB3 gene. Two major isoforms exist: beta-3A, widely expressed, and beta-3C, specifically in prostate and testis.
