Biological Background: Integrin beta 1 Function and Localization

• Integrin beta-1 (ITGB1, also known as CD29, Fnrb, gpIIa) is a transmembrane receptor protein encoded by the Itgb1 gene, which heterodimerizes with various alpha integrin subunits to mediate cell-extracellular matrix adhesion and bidirectional signaling.
