- INHBB encodes the inhibin beta B chain, a member of the TGF-beta superfamily, which dimerizes with the inhibin alpha chain to form inhibin B or with another beta-B chain to form activin B. These complexes exhibit opposing effects on follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion.
