Biological Background: ING4 Function and Localization
- ING4 is a member of the inhibitor of growth (ING) family of tumor suppressors, encoded by the ING4 gene; alternative splicing generates multiple isoforms.
- As a component of HBO1 complexes, ING4 specifically mediates acetylation of histone H3 at Lys-14 (H3K14ac) and may play a role in DNA replication. Related references: PMID:16387653
