Biological Background: IL-8 Function and Localization
- Interleukin-8 (IL-8), also known as CXCL8, is a C-X-C motif chemokine that acts as a major mediator of the inflammatory response by attracting neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells to sites of infection or injury. Related references: PMID:18692776 PMID:7636208
