Biological Background: IL-22 Function and Localization

• Interleukin-22 (IL-22), also known as cytokine Zcyto18 and IL-10-related T-cell-derived-inducible factor (IL-TIF), is a member of the IL-10 cytokine family.

• For western blot (WB), the predicted molecular weight is around 20 kDa. Consider including positive controls such as stimulated immune cell supernatants or recombinant IL22 protein to verify specificity.
• For immunofluorescence (IF/ICC), optimize fixation/permeabilization conditions, as IL-22 is secreted; using protein transport inhibitors may enhance intracellular staining.
• For ELISA, this antibody can be used as a capture or detection antibody; pair with a monoclonal antibody against a different epitope for sandwich ELISA, and validate in the relevant sample system.
