  • Interleukin-13 receptor subunit alpha-1 (IL13RA1) is a low-affinity receptor for interleukin-13 (IL-13).
  • Together with interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL4RA), it forms a functional receptor complex for IL-13, initiating downstream signaling.
  • IL13RA1 also acts as an accessory protein for interleukin-4 (IL-4) signaling, but cannot substitute for IL2RG in enhancing IL-2 binding.
  • The protein is a single-pass type I membrane receptor with an extracellular domain containing multiple repeats, a transmembrane helix, and a short cytoplasmic tail.
