- Plays an indirect role in sonic hedgehog signaling, as cilia are required for hedgehog pathway activity.
- Interacts with HIP1 to recruit caspase-8 (CASP8) and trigger apoptosis.
- May act as a transcription regulator by binding the DNA sequence motif 5'-AAAGACATG-3' present in the promoters of caspase genes.
