Biological Background: Human IgG3 Function and Localization
- Human IgG3 is the constant region of the immunoglobulin gamma-3 (IgG3) heavy chain, belonging to the immunoglobulin family.
- Immunoglobulins are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes that act as receptors in humoral immunity.

Experimental Guidance and Technical Tips
- The immunogen corresponds to amino acids 99–167 of the human IgG3 constant region, targeting a sequence that is common to both membrane-bound and secreted forms of the protein.
- For Western blotting, test under both reducing and non-reducing conditions. The observed protein weight may vary (41–49 kDa) due to glycosylation; the unmodified predicted molecular weight is approximately 49 kDa.
- Because of high sequence homology among IgG subclasses, the antibody may cross-react with other human IgG subtypes. Validate specificity using appropriate isotype controls and purified proteins.
- For ELISA applications, the antibody can be used for detection of human IgG3 in biological samples. Consider pairing with a capture antibody against a non-overlapping epitope for sandwich ELISA.
