  • Glutathione S-transferase kappa 1 (GSTK1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the conjugation of reduced glutathione to a variety of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles.

  • GSTK1 belongs to the glutathione S-transferase kappa class and is also known as GST 13-13, GST class-kappa, GSTK1-1, and glutathione S-transferase subunit 13.
  • The protein localizes predominantly to peroxisomes.
  • GSTK1 is ubiquitously expressed across human tissues.
  • It has a molecular weight of approximately 25.5 kDa (25497 Da as per UniProt).
  • Post-translational modifications include acetylation, and the gene undergoes alternative splicing. It is part of the reference proteome with a known 3D structure.
