Biological Background: GPX4 Function and Localization
- GPX4 (Phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase, also known as GPx-4 or GSHPx-4) is a selenocysteine-containing glutathione peroxidase that directly reduces phospholipid hydroperoxides in membranes and lipoproteins, protecting cells from oxidative damage.
