Biological Background: FXR1 Function and Localization

- It specifically binds to AU-rich elements (AREs) in 3'-UTRs, undergoing liquid-liquid phase separation to form cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein granules that concentrate mRNAs and regulatory factors. Related references: PMID:17382880, PMID:34731628
