  • FTO (fat mass and obesity-associated protein) is an alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase that functions as an RNA demethylase, catalyzing the oxidative demethylation of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) in mRNA, U6 snRNA, and the 5' cap m6A(m) modification.
