  • FcεR1α is the high-affinity receptor for IgE, also designated Fc-epsilon RI-alpha or FcERI, encoded by the FCER1A gene.
  • It mediates IgE effector functions in myeloid cells; upon IgE binding and cross-linking by allergen, it initiates signaling cascades that lead to myeloid cell activation and degranulation.
  • On mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils, it stimulates the secretion of vasoactive amines, lipid mediators, and cytokines, contributing to allergic inflammation and host defense against helminths, bacteria, and venom.
  • Subcellularly, FcεR1α is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein localized to the cell membrane.
  • It is a glycoprotein with immunoglobulin-like domains and disulfide bonds, and its dysregulation can trigger life-threatening anaphylactic reactions.
  • Expressed in eosinophils, it plays a pivotal role in immediate hypersensitivity and anti-microbial immunity.

  • The immunogen corresponds to the extracellular domain (amino acids 26–205), which may facilitate recognition of the native surface receptor in applications such as flow cytometry.
  • For Western blot, a band near 30 kDa is expected based on the predicted molecular weight; validate the observed size in your sample system.
