Biological Background: ETS1 Function and Localization

• Protein C-ets-1, also known as p54, is a transcription factor encoded by the ETS1 gene. Alternative splicing produces isoforms such as c-ETS-1A and Ets-1 p27.

• Acts as a dominant-negative for the c-ETS-1A isoform.

Experimental Guidance and Technical Tips

• The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 342-441 of human ETS1. Due to high sequence conservation, the antibody may cross-react with mouse and rat ETS1 as indicated.
• For Western blotting (WB), the predicted molecular weight is approximately 50 kDa. Consider using lysates from lymphoid or endothelial cell lines for target detection.
• In immunofluorescence (IF-P), optimization of fixation and permeabilization conditions is recommended, and nuclear/cytoplasmic localization should be consistent with known ETS1 distribution.
