  • EP400 (E1A-binding protein p400), also known as Domino homolog, CAG repeat protein 32, or Trinucleotide repeat-containing gene 12 protein, is a core component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex.
  • As part of NuA4, EP400 catalyzes acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A, altering DNA interactions to facilitate transcriptional activation.
  • EP400 participates in the activation of E2F1 and MYC target genes, playing a role in cell proliferation control.
  • The ATPase and helicase activities of the NuA4 complex are partly dependent on the interaction of RUVBL1 and RUVBL2 with EP400.
