- ENTPD2, also designated CD39L1 and NTPDase-2, is a member of the ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase family that hydrolyzes extracellular nucleotides.
- Catalyzes the sequential removal of phosphate groups from nucleoside triphosphates (NTPs) and diphosphates (NDPs), with a marked preference for triphosphonucleosides over diphosphonucleosides, converting NTPs to nucleoside monophosphates (NMPs) via NDP intermediates. - Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms, including catalytically inactive variants, which may contribute to functional diversity.
