- This protein may also be involved in targeting monocarboxylate transporters (SLC16A1, SLC16A6, SLC16A7) to the cell membrane.
- Subcellularly, Embigin localizes to the cell membrane and synapse, consistent with its role at neuromuscular junctions.
- Key structural features include immunoglobulin domains, disulfide bonds, and potential alternative splicing and phosphorylation sites.
